what is the definition of love?

when someone ask you what is love, would you give a honest answer, like “I don’t really know…”, or would you sugarcoat your answer to please that someone?

more or less, we can all agree that love is something beautiful, isn’t it?

love inflicts all kinds of of irrational feelings to us human, feelings which make us feel our lives somehow worthwhile…

“without love we are not much different than a GPT” – someone said that.

should we think of love as akin to money, in the sense that the more you are loved, the more indebted you feel? Is this why many people fear love—afraid of the obligation to reciprocate affection equally, as if playing a game or managing a balance sheet?

but wait, debt accumulates over time, whereas love can diminish, so love cannot be considered an asset, can it?

so love must be a living thing then. A living thing that required nurturing everyday. But who has the time and effort to nurture such love, and what is their ultimate goal in keeping that love alive? People can still coexist and be in partnerships without love, undoubtedly. So, what is the point of loving someone? Without love, you will :

  • Never have that fear of losing someone so precious;
  • Never have that feeling of helplessness for not being able to take care of and treasure that someone;
  • Never have to worry that someone is mistreated by somebody else;
  • Never afraid of dreaming about that someone and wake up all alone;
  • Never have to listen to over and over a song that remind you of that someone;
  • Never afraid of keeping any secret except for how childish you had became when loving that someone;
  • Never be afraid of not knowing if love goes both way between you and that someone;
  • Never regret something you said or didn’t say to that someone;
  • Never have to throw your phone away when you had a few and start missing that someone, and wanting so badly just to call and hear her comforting voice;
  • You can just live and not afraid of whether you are alive or dead inside already.

So, please, love me more, love me hard, love me long… please… let us kill this love… i don’t deserve to be loved
